Wheat Ridge is on Denver's west side and Littleton is to the south, and on paper their medians are nearly a match. If you only compare the headline prices, you could flip a coin between them.
The price you pay for each square foot is where they split apart. I pulled every figure below on October 15, 2026, and each section links to a live house search on this site so you can test the math against homes for sale today.
Which city gives you more square feet for $600,000, Wheat Ridge or Littleton?
Littleton does, by roughly 240 square feet: $600,000 covers about 2,180 square feet at Littleton's $275 median price per square foot and about 1,940 square feet at Wheat Ridge's $309.
The division is simple. $600,000 / $275 = 2,182 square feet in Littleton, and $600,000 / $309 = 1,942 square feet in Wheat Ridge. A finished basement, a newer kitchen or a bigger lot can push one home well off that line, so put the Wheat Ridge houses from $600K to $800K next to the Littleton houses from $600K to $800K and price the extra space home by home.
- Wheat Ridge median sale price: $629,700, up 0.1% from a year earlier
- Littleton median sale price: $604,712, down 0.048% from a year earlier
- Wheat Ridge price per square foot: $309, down 4.6% from a year earlier
- Littleton price per square foot: $275, up 7.0% from a year earlier
Why are the medians only $25,000 apart when price per foot differs by $34?
Most likely because the typical Littleton sale is a larger home: dividing each median price by its median price per square foot points to roughly 2,200 square feet in Littleton and roughly 2,040 in Wheat Ridge.
That is $604,712 / $275 = 2,199 and $629,700 / $309 = 2,038. A median divided by a median is not a true average size, so read it as a clue about which homes closed, not a measurement. The trend lines also point in opposite directions, with Littleton's price per foot rising 7.0% over the year while Wheat Ridge's slipped 4.6%. Open the Wheat Ridge houses for sale search, which starts at $550,000, and the Littleton houses for sale search, which starts at $600,000, to see the square footage on today's listings. Redfin's medians cover every home type, so condos and townhomes are part of those numbers.

- Wheat Ridge: 21 median days on market, 98.3% sale-to-list, 15.5% of homes sold above list price
- Littleton: 25 median days on market, 98.8% sale-to-list, 24.4% of homes sold above list price
